About the IPA

The Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) is a professional organisation for accountants recognised for their practical, hands-on skills and a broad understanding of the total business environment.

The IPA is a progressive, responsive accounting body committed to integrity, professionalism and professional development. It represents more than 20,000 members and students working in industry, commerce, government, academia and private practice. 

Close consultation with influential business, government and public bodies enables the IPA to successfully address issues affecting the accounting profession. The IPA is represented on peak federal government committees.

The IPA actively raises the level of recognition for its members, their specialised skills and the accounting profession in general, through a proactive and consultative relationship with media and industry representatives.
