How to apply

The application process described below is for the assessment of
your skilled employment for migration purposes under the following
ANZSCO occupations:
- Accountant (General) ANZSCO code 221111
- Management Accountant ANZSCO code 221112
- Taxation Accountant ANZSCO code 221113
- External Auditor ANZSCO code 221213
- Finance Manager ANZSCO code 132211
- Corporate Treasurer ANZSCO code 221212
You should visit the Department of Immigration & Citizenship
(DIAC) website for information on the General
Skilled Migration (GSM) point system applicable to each ANZSCO code
occupation.
NOTE: DIAC will not allocate any points to
occupations from 1 July 2011 onward when the New Points System
comes into effect.
To apply to have your skilled employment assessed:
- Download the Assessment for Skilled Employment Application
Form.
- Read the Information Section and obtain certified copies of the
required documents.
- Complete and lodge the form and the required documents, with
the assessment fee, to the address shown on the form (Note:
Applications cannot be lodged electronically).
On receipt of your application, the Institute of Public
Accountants will acknowledge receipt in writing. This
acknowledgement letter will also give you a file reference number.
Please quote this reference every time you contact us. If you
have had your qualifications assessed by IPA, please quote the QAI
reference that has been allocated to you.
On completion of the assessment, the IPA will issue you or your
nominee written confirmation of the assessment outcome.
We are unable to provide confirmation to parties other than you
or your approved nominees.

The assessment fee of AUD150 may be paid as:
- An overseas Bank Draft. The draft should be made payable
to the Institute of Public Accountants and nominate a corresponding
Australian bank through which payment can be processed;
- An Australian bank cheque or Australia Post Money Order made
payable to the Institute of Public Accountants; or
- A Credit Card
The assessment fee is not subject to Australian Goods and
Services Tax (GST).

Provided the IPA has not commenced with any work on your
application, a refund of the total amount less an administration
fee of AUD30 may be possible.
Please note that your application and documents will not be
returned.

Standard Assessment - AUD400
Fast Track Assessment - AUD600
GSM Assessment - AUD80 (applies only to international
students applying onshore, who hold a Graduate (Temporary) visa
(sub-class 485) and have now completed SMIPA or the IELTS Academic
English).
Reassessment Fee - AUD160
Skilled Employment Assessment - AUD150
Replacement of Assessment Letter - AUD55 (certified true copy
only)
Administrative Charges - AUD30
