Dr MICHAEL SCHAPER APPOINTED TO IPA BOARD

The Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) Board has announced the appointment of Dr Michael Schaper as one of three newly appointed Directors

Dr Schaper is currently Deputy Chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). 

His previous roles include being the former ACT Small Business Commissioner, President of the Small Enterprise Association of Australia and New Zealand, Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, member of the AICD's ACT Divisional Council.  Michael is also a key leader on the IPA Deakin SME Research Centre Advisory Board. 

"We are delighted to have the calibre of Dr Schaper to join the IPA Board," said Board president, Damian Moore.

“This clearly demonstrates Michael’s passion for small business which fits perfectly with the ideals of the IPA,” said Mr Moore.

In acknowledging the appointment, Dr Schaper said “I have had a long association with the IPA and it is a privilege to be appointed to the Board of an organisation which is fervent about improving the quality of life of small business, increasing small business productivity and contributing to the wellbeing of the Australian economy.

Dr Schaper's directorship with the IPA commences at the end of IPA's annual general meeting in November 2017.
