Eligibility and Pathways
In order to enrol in the IPA Program:
- You must be a current financial member of the IPA at the
Associate (AIPA) level or higher. Student members are not
eligible to enrol in the IPA Program.
- TAFE qualified members must have a minimum of two years
relevant work experience.
- Holders of an overseas award will need to meet UNE's English
Members with overseas qualifications may be required to complete
additional subjects. Please contact the IPA for further details.
Note: Other requirements may need to be met
before your application is approved.
The IPA Program provides a unique pathway for members with a
TAFE Advanced Diploma in Accounting (or equivalent).
The Program consists of:
- Graduate Certificate of Professional Accounting (1 core + 3
- Master of Commerce (Professional Accounting) (1 core + 7
Completion of these subjects and the IPA Mentored Experience
Program will qualify you to advance to full (MIPA)
Members following the TAFE qualification pathway who wish to
exit at the Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting point,
will not be eligible at this time to advance to full (MIPA)
Please note: It is a UNE requirement that
TAFE Graduates have a minimum of two years relevant work experience
prior to commencing the IPA Program.
If you have an approved university degree in accounting you need
only complete four subjects and the IPA Mentored Experience Program
to progress to Member (MIPA) level.
On completion of the four subjects (1 core + 3 electives) you
will be awarded the Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting
If you wish to study further towards the Master of Commerce
(Professional Accounting) you must complete a further four
