IPA Faculties

IPA Faculties were created to anticipate, collectively discuss and respond to emerging issues in the accounting profession in Australia and abroad.

They provide strategic, technical and thought leadership on a range of issues affecting the accounting profession, and evaluate policy issues to assist the IPA in its representation to governments, standard setters and other stakeholders.

The individual fields of expertise of each Faculty are the underpinning strength and foundation of the IPA.

The long-term objective of the Faculties is to provide cutting edge tools, education and information resources to the profession.

Accounting and education

The Faculty of Accounting Education Advisory Committee acts as the policy foundation of the IPA in accounting education.

They provide opinions and comments to the Institute on contemporary and emerging issues; including those affecting IPA members, the accounting and finance profession; and where the IPA deems there to be public interest.

Accounting regulation

The Faculty of Accounting Regulation Advisory Committee acts as the professional foundation of the IPA in the area of accounting regulation.

They provide opinions and comments to the Institute on contemporary and emerging issues; including those affecting IPA members, the accounting profession; and other related areas where the IPA deems there is a public interest. This includes, but is not limited to, accounting and auditing standards, corporate regulation and professional and ethical standards.

Corporate Governance

The Faculty of Corporate Governance Advisory Committee acts as the policy foundation of the IPA in the area of corporate governance.

They provide opinions and comments to the Institute on contemporary and emerging issues; including those affecting IPA members, the accounting and finance profession; and where the IPA deems there to be public interest.

Financial Services
