Process for overseas members

Applications for overseas members will be assessed based on academic qualifications and relevant work experience.

If you currently hold membership of an overseas accounting body which is a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), you will normally be eligible for membership of the Institute of Public Accountants (additional requirements may apply in certain jurisdictions due to local legislative requirements), and are accordingly encouraged to apply.

In order to apply from outside Australia, please contact our International Division at

Please note that the actual level of membership will be determined by the nature and level of academic qualifications and relevant work experience you hold.

If you have any questions, please contact your local division on 1800 625 625.
