Eligibility

Your individual journey on the IPA Program will depend on your academic history. The following guide will assist you in working out what units you need to undertake.

University Degree Holders
If you're an Associate Member of the IPA, and you hold an Australian Accounting University degree, you'll need to undertake two core units as a minimum:

You may be eligible for exemptions from the remaining Stage 1 units, as you may have studied these units in your accounting degree. Upon enrolment, we may ask for your academic transcript to confirm your exemptions.

Upon completion, and by meeting the Mentored Experience Program requirements, you'll have your membership upgraded to full member status (MIPA), and be eligible to commence Stage 2 of the IPA Program - the MBA Degree.

Accounting Diploma/Advanced Diploma Holders
If you're an Associate Member of the IPA, and you hold a Diploma of Accounting or Advanced Diploma of Accounting, you'll need to undertake all six units in the first stage of the IPA Program.

Upon completion, and by meeting the Mentored Experience Program requirements, you'll have your membership upgraded to full member status (MIPA), and be eligible to commence Stage 2 of the IPA Program - the MBA Degree.

Got no formal qualifications?
If you're an Associate Member of the IPA, and you hold no formal academic qualifications, but have extensive professional experience, you'll need to undertake all six units in the first stage of the IPA Program.

Upon completion, and by meeting the Mentored Experience Program requirements, you'll have your membership upgraded to full member status (MIPA), and be eligible to commence Stage 2 of the IPA Program - the MBA Degree.
