MBA721 People Management
This unit has been designed to be relevant to your working life, whether you have formal people management responsibilities, are the member of a team, or a combination of the two. The content draws primarily on two disciplines - organisational behaviour (OB) and human resource management (HRM).
The unit is designed to enhance your observational and problem solving skills involving people management issues such as employee motivation, job stress, mental health, team development, and strategic HRM. You will also be provided with a toolbox of concepts and practical strategies that are designed to enhance the satisfaction and work performance of individuals and groups.
The purpose of this unit is to give you a theoretical underpinning that explains the behaviour of people at work, why they do what they do, and uncovers corresponding behavioural patterns. It does this by examining the nature of individuals, when they’re in teams and groups, and when they’re in larger social environments.
Deakin University also offer this unit as a Residential option, allowing you to complete the unit in a six day period in Geelong, Victoria.
