This will be a free day for you to explore London and get your bearings before it all kicks off tomorrow.

 
Sunday 11 June
  • Attire: Casual
  • Day trip to the city of Oxford
  • Breakfast (inc with accommodation) and Lunch is provided.

An early start as we meet for a day trip to Oxford, known as the city of dreaming spires. For over 800 years, it has been a home to royalty and scholars, and since the 9th century an established town.

 

Delegates will experience a guided walking tour visiting Exeter and Balliol College and iconic locations from Harry Potter and Inspector Morse and Lewis while learning about the collegiate system of tutorial unique to Oxford and Cambridge. Following this you will experience a traditional pub lunch.

 

After lunch take part in the local activity of punting on the stunning River Cherwell, of course with your own guide. Following this you will be given the opportunity to explore the town and Oxford’s famous high street at your own pace before heading back to London. Throughout the day, you will have ample opportunity to get to know one another before the week ahead.

Monday 12 June

Educational Presentation, Commerce London Walking Tour and Buckingham Palace State Rooms Tour & Queens Gallery Exhibition.

We will start the day in Canary Wharf with a presentation from the Executive Director of the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation Lee White.


From here, we will have lunch at Darwin Brasserie London’s highest rooftop brasserie overlooking the Thames on Level 36 and take in the panoramic views of London from the Sky Garden.


The we will explore the heart of London’s financial markets. Walk down narrow alleys where the deals done in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries propelled London to pre-eminence. See how the markets established then - equities, bonds, commodities and insurance - are traded now, and why they are vital to the UK's economy. Get to know some of the individuals and concepts which created today's financial backbone of the City.


Finally making our way to Buckingham Palace recognised around the world as the home of the monarch, the focus of national and royal celebrations. Taking a tour through the State rooms with gilded ceilings and glittering chandeliers, providing a perfect setting for many of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection, including Sèvres porcelain, and some of the finest English and French furniture in the world. Delegates can then explore the Queen’s Gallery at their own pace to view the ever-changing exhibitions on show.

Tuesday 13 June

Educational Presentations, National Art Gallery & West End Experience

We will begin the day with education presentations at the newly refurbished BAFTA Creative and Future Galleries, the beating heart of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts aiming to inspire and stimulate ideas.


A tour of The National Gallery will follow lunch, which is home to the nation’s collection of Western European painting from the 13th to the early 20th centuries. Immerse yourself with the greatest Western European painters including Van Eyck, Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci, Turner, Rembrandt, Degas, Cézanne, Van Gogh, Renoir, Monet, Rubens, Velázquez, Van Dyck, Titian and Bellini.


In the evening, we will join with the partners for dinner and a West End show.

 
Wednesday 14 June

Educational Presentations, Lloyd’s of London and IPA Group Centenary Dinner

  • Attire:  Business (During the day) and Cocktail/ Formal (During the evening)
  • Total CPD Hours: 6
  • Breakfast (inc with accommodation), Lunch and Dinner is provided.

Today’s activities will start with an education session in the bespoke and historic Sir David Rowland Room at Lloyd’s of London.


Then delegates will tour Lloyd’s of London exploring the structure of the market and how it operates, the roles of underwriters, brokers, and the Corporation of Lloyd’s. This tour will also highlight some items of historical interest, such as the Loss Book, Lutine Bell and Adam Room.


After lunch delegates will have free time in the afternoon to explore London at their own leisure.


That evening, Join us for our intimate dinner at the Swan London in the exclusive Balcony Room. Enjoy penthouse private dining and balcony with sweeping views of St Paul’s, overlooking the River Thames and central London skyline. Experience London like never before.

 
Thursday 15 June

Educations Presentations, Meeting the IFA, Evening River Cruise

  • Attire: Business
  • Total CPD Hours: 6
  • Breakfast (inc with accommodation), lunch and dinner (substantial canapes) are provided.

We will begin the morning at the IFA offices to meet the local team, followed by educational presentations from Mattioli Woods covering pensions, Gardner Less on data protections legislation and GDPR and the Fraud Advisory Panel discussing the implications and increasing risk of business fraud.


Delegates will then be given time to refresh and explore the city at their own leisure.


Then join us for our final activity an evening cruise on the River Thames enjoy glass of bubbly in one hand and sumptuous canapés in the other and sail off into the evening and see London's riverside landmarks at their glittering best.

 

No events will run on Friday 16 June, delegates must check out of the hotel by 11:00am.
