Accountants make Gold Coast shine

The Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) has partnered with local Gold Coast business Dreamtime Resorts in a social media campaign to showcase the accountants that keep the Gold Coast shining.

In anticipation of IPA's upcoming National Congress, held on the Gold Coast from November 7 to 9, the campaign asks Dreamtime's resort owners, staff and even mascots "what does your public accountant mean to you?"

"The campaign highlights the contribution that Gold Coast based IPA members make to the local small-to-medium enterprise (SME) community" said IPA chief executive officer, Andrew Conway.

"The IPA-Dreamtime social media campaign showcases just why we are choosing the Gold Coast for our first National Congress; as well as the beautiful weather and stunning beaches, it's also home to a bustling SME community who rely on the expertise and support of IPA members who are considered crucial assets to their business.

"Using new media to push this message out, we are continuing to advocate innovation in small business, especially encouraging them to utilise social media to communicate with their customers, or in this case, their present and future guests.

"With over 58% of Australians on Facebook  and small businesses reporting increased revenue by a whopping 20 percent through social media use , the opportunities for SMEs cannot be overlooked," said Mr Conway.

Dreamtime Resorts have recognised social media as an ever present, ever growing medium, and have effectively utilised these channels to communicate with their audience. Their seven properties on the Gold Coast are all active on social media, with great success. Over 5,800 Facebook users like their page, and various resorts under the brand, such as Reflections Coolangatta Beach, boast over 3,500 Facebook fans.

"At Dreamtime, we're firm believers of the benefits and endless possibilities that cross-promotional activities produce for us through these social media channels, and are excited about utilising these channels to work with the IPA in the lead up to their National Congress," said Dreamtime Resort's Marketing Manager, Garry McKenzie.
The campaign will run on Facebook, Twitter and IPA's digital hub, pubacct.org.au from Tuesday, 22 October until the IPA National Congress opening on November 7.
