IPA ANNOUNCES SENIOR APPOINTMENT - PROF GARY PFLUGRATH

The Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) has announced the appointment of Prof Gary Pflugrath to the role of Executive General Manager IPA Program and Qualifications.

In making the announcement, IPA chief executive officer, Prof Andrew Conway said that the appointment of Prof Pflugrath was a significant move to continue to lift the bar on education within the profession.

“Gary comes with significant senior experience including his former role as Senior Director, Public Policy and Governance with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC),” said Prof Conway.

“When we enhanced our professional program last year to become a fully-fledged MBA with Deakin University, it was in recognition of the need to raise the bar and ensure that members had the competitive edge in a fast-changing, professional environment.

“Gary will lead the IPA Program as well as oversee the learning and development framework of the Institute and provide valuable insight to our significant research agenda.

“Our ongoing relationship with Deakin University has also been enhanced with Gary’s appointment as Professor of Professional Practice.

“I am looking forward to working with Gary to provide the best qualification and education outcomes for our members, along with welcoming his influence in our research,” said Prof Conway.

Prof Pflugrath’s past experiences also includes senior roles within professional organisations, the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the Reserve Bank of Australia and University of New South Wales.
