The Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking (FNS40815) is for our members wanting to expand their provision of services into the finance and mortgage broking industry.

This program has been tailored to successful officers, responsible managers and mortgage brokers who wish to offer finance and mortgage broking services.

Qualifications Required

The Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking is open access with students not required to hold any prior qualifications. However, it is suggested that interested members are proficient in both numeracy and literacy in order to successfully complete this course.

Course Outcomes

This qualification complies with the initial education requirements of Section 47(1)(f) of the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (National Credit Act), which places responsibility on the licensee to gain and maintain their competence to provide the credit activities authorised by the licence.

This course assist you to:

  • Assess client loan applications
  • Successfully guide clients through the loan application process
  • Provide relevant skills that help with understanding legislation and code of practice obligations. 


Assessment activities are designed in line with best practice standards to enable you to deliver quality advice outcomes to your clients. 

There are three different assessment stages:

  • Multiple choice knowledge test
  • Assessment Tasks based on the practical application of concepts learned.
  • Skills assessment 

Course Costs 

The Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking course fee is $488. The mode of study is via online education, allowing you to study at your own pace, and in the privacy of your home or office.  Full tutor and academic support is provided throughout the course. 

Note that if you are a new student, studying an online course with Mentor Education for the first time, a non-refundable administration fee of $150 will be charged to provide you with access to the relevant learning modules.
