Back on Track: Managing your people and mental wellness workshop

This session is from 12:00pm to 2:00pm AEDT hosted by BUPA. 

This 2-hour workshop guides participants in how to manage a staff member who has mental health issues or a mental illness in a way that respects their rights, increases their chances of recovery, and minimises risks to the organisation.

This includes consideration the challenges of managing staff members remotely, timelines and goals, supporting treatment regimes, managing behaviours (e.g absence, lateness, social withdrawal) and garnering support from your colleagues.

Key Learning Outcomes:
Participants can expect to gain from this session an ability to:

  • Explore the differences between mental health and mental illness.
  • Identify some comfortable ways to talk about mental illness with people.
  • Explore the aspects of human rights surrounding mental health and illness.
  • Apply some strategies to help manage certain behaviours.
  • Apply some strategies to create a supportive workplace culture.
